WebDeveloper
Upon entering WebDeveloper.com one of the first things you notice are the large adverts based at the top of the page. This can be a slight annoyance when your browsing the forum regularly and posting in multiple topics.
But when you get past the adverts you can find an active discussion board with over a million posts and thousands of users many who are regularly active. WebDeveloper.com covers a wide range of topics such as Client-Side Development (HTML, XML, CSS, Graphics), Server-Side Development (PHP, Perl/Python/Ruby, ASP, SQL) to Server Management including (Domain Names, Website Reviews and Search engines) along with many more.
The community in WebDeveloper.com are often developers with years of experience and knowledge behind them and help out fellow users on a regular basis. Along with DevNetwork I am also a regular visitor to WebDeveloper and would highly recommend it to anyone interested.
DevNetwork Forums
During my time I often search google for website development related stuff, Every so often I find a forum which on the front looks popular yet friendly and with regular updates but many fail to impress after a few days upon signing up.
After signing up to DevNetwork.net forums, in January 2011. I have been impressed with how active the community is, many users post daily and often multiple times through out the day so checking back regularly brings lots of updates. The administrators and moderators are friendly and helpful with keeping the forums clean of spam and easy to use.
Over the past month I have replied to many a topic from users who require assistance with PHP coding problems or queries, The community are helpful and respond to users within hours of posting. I have enjoyed seeing fellow users post their ways of overcoming problems with their own solutions and it too has helped myself develop my coding skills. As well as sections on allowing people to discuss problems, sections include coding critique, which allows users to post snippets or sections of code they have made allowing users to comment on how to improve. This can be used as a great learning technique which goes strongly along side the tutorials that users post.
I plan on keeping up to date with the latest on DevNetwork Forums and will help troubleshoot users and develop their PHP skills along with my own as I become a regular within the DevNetwork Forum Community.
